Moro Rock

splendorOfSequoia tn

Moro Rock is a large granite dome also found in the Giant Forest area.  Common in the Sierra Nevada, the dome was formed by exfoliation, or the casting off in sheets of rock layers on otherwise disjointed granite.  Outward expansion of the granite results in exfoliation.  Taking a quarter-mile trail, you can climb nearly 400 stone steps to the top of the barren rock (6,725-foot elevation).  Moro Rock Sequoia Park parking area is 3 miles south of the General Sherman Tree at General's Highway.  RVs and trailers are prohibited on this road.

Testimonials

“We were very pleased with everything.  Our room was really nice and well maintained.  We were really blown away by your restaurant.  We never expected the gourmet food and service.  It was also nice that you still had a kids menu since we had an 11 and 8 year old with us.  We will definitely recommend the Wuksachi to friends and family.”
